In 1960, after many months of hard work by a dedicated group of individuals in this small rural town, the Rhome Library opened its doors. Immediately the library served the varied needs of this small community with print information from various sources for young and old alike. And now, as we near the 60th anniversary of the Rhome Community Library, our services to the community have only increased as the population, and their needs, has increased.

From the beginning, the Rhome Community Library has never had a permanent home.

  • Through the diligent efforts of board members through the years, land has been purchased at 501 South Old Mill Road in Rhome for the construction of a new, permanent library building.
  • This larger building will allow Rhome Community Library to expand on its existing programs and offer more beneficial support opportunities to citizens of Rhome and the surrounding communities.

Magee Architects in Fort Worth designed a building based on our current and future needs.

  • Our building will be approximately 5,892 square feet with designated children’s area, expanded computer area, large community meeting room, reading/study room, and a general reading area.

Our goal is ambitious as we strive to have the funds available by January 2020 to begin the construction process.

  • How wonderful to have our new building completed in time for our 60th anniversary!
  • And with your help, we can achieve that goal!

Thank-you for your thoughtful consideration of a donation toward the permanent home of the Rhome Community Library.

  • You will not only be supporting a new building, but generously investing in our community through the Rhome Community Library.
