Rhome Community Library


The Rhome Community Library is located in Rhome, Texas. The Rhome Community Library provides free services to all in the surrounding area.

What We Are:

The Rhome Community Library (RCL) is a non-profit corporation operated exclusively for educational and charitable purposes within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. A volunteer Board of Directors directs the daily operations as well as seeks funding through donations and grants.

The Rhome Community Library, the first library in Wise County, opened in December 1960 by sixteen ladies. As a cherished source of community pride, the library exists as a labor of love staffed by community volunteers. Located in the City of Rhome, the library also serves the Southwest corner of Wise County, which is a part of the large Northwest ISD.

What We Offer

The library holds approximately 10,000 materials, including books, audiobooks, movies, eBooks and eAudiobooks. Wise County residents and students of Northwest ISD receive free membership cards. The library provides an online catalog accessed from any internet service. Programs and events for all ages are scheduled throughout the year.   • Fax Machine ($0.50 per page to send, no receiving)(Fax Cover Sheet $.50)
  • Copier ($0.20 per page single, $0.50 color)
  • Staff must fax and copy all materials and patron confidentiality and privacy will be maintained.

  • Interlibrary Loan (ILL)

You may search the Library catalog; Title / Author  / Keyword searching without a membership card. (Click link at top of page)

A member card provides you with login privileges to use all the features of our RCL Catalog. You may renew and/or reserve books from home on the internet. Also use the link to TexShare, with its 60 databases, to do searching of online information in many subject areas, such as medicine, business, genealogy, K-12 research papers and projects, Literature - both actual book texts (ebooks and eaudiobooks) and analysis of literary works of prose, poetry, etc. ExpressLearning and other databases are available. Please contact the library for a library card and login for those who wish to use these resources.
