Rhome Community Library

1,000 Books Before Kindergarten

Reading to children helps them develop cognitive and language skills, leads to an increase in concentration and discipline, improves imagination and creativity, and helps promote a lifelong love of reading. To emphasize reading in the lives of babies, toddlers and preschoolers, Rhome Community Library offers the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten reading incentive program. Parents can enroll their children ages birth to 5 years in this self-paced reading program. The library can provide a list of suggested books for the program. Children will receive incentives along the way, and after 1,000 books have been read they will receive a certificate and a book. Click the logo for more information.
