What We Are:
The Rhome Community Library (RCL) is a non-profit corporation operated exclusively for educational and charitable purposes within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. A volunteer Board of Directors oversees the daily operations and seeks funding through donations and grants.
The Rhome Community Library was the first library in Wise County. THe library opened in December 1960 as a cherished source of community pride by 16 ladies. The library exists as a labor of love. Located in the City of Rhome, the library serves the City of Rhome and surrounding communities, the citizens of Wise County, and the students and faculty of Northwest ISD.

What We Offer
The library holds approximately 10,000 materials, including books and movies. Members have access to free eBooks and downloadable Audiobooks through Libby by Overdrive, SimplyE, and Biblioboard/E-Read Texas as well as downloadable books, articles, and limitless resources through TexShare Databases. All Wise County residents and all students of Northwest ISD (and their family members) are eligible to receive free membership cards. The library provides an online catalog accessible from any internet service. Programs and events for all ages are scheduled throughout the year. Other Services
At this time, we can only accept cash payments for these services:
- Faxes (50¢ per page to send, no receiving). We require a Fax Cover Sheet that will add 50¢ to your total. We will provide the cover sheet. Staff must fax all materials. Patron confidentiality and privacy will be maintained.
- Copier/Printer (black and white 20¢ single side, 30¢ double; color 50¢ single side, 75¢ double)
The following are free services.
- Free online databases for library patrons accessible at the library and on your device with any Wi-Fi connection. If you're logged into our catalog, you're automatically logged in to access the databases.
- On-site Computer Access and Wi-Fi (free)
- Interlibrary Loan (ILL)

Anyone may search our catalog without a membership card. Click the Online Catalog button in the toolbar above to search by Title/Author/Keyword.
A membership card provides you with privileges to use all these features:
- Renewing and/or reserving books from your device.
- TexShare Databases. Texshare enables online searches in many subject areas such as medicine, business, genealogy, K-12 education, research papers and projects, literature - eBooks, audiobooks, and literary analyses of prose, poetry, etc.
- ExpressLearning
- Spanish language databases
